Keswick in the Northern Lake District is pretty market town sitting near to Derwentwater and at the foot of the Skiddaw range. Tourism is a major part of Keswick yet there is still a strong local community which appeals to both the younger and older generations.

Keswick is a thriving Lakeland market town and has plenty of activities for all ages. There is also a variety of shops from designer clothing to outdoor and sports. There are also art galleries and many buildings of historical significance such as the famous Moot Hall in the town square (which you can view from the lounge).

There are many restaurants offering a range of culinery delights - Indian, Chinese, Fish and Chips, Italian, French and formal. The drinking establishments range from traditional peaceful pubs with original beams and open log fires to trendy and sophisticated wine bars (all are within close walking distance of the apartment).

Though Keswick is a vibrant market town there are many places where you can enjoy the serenity of the Lake District. Fitz park is only 3 minutes walk and is an ideal retreat from the buzzing town centre. It contains the cricket ground which was voted 'the most beautiful cricket ground in Britain' by a leading cricket magazine. There are also tennis courts (grass and clay), crown green bowling, putting, a football field and a play area for the kids.

Head towards Derwentwater - and the Theatre by the Lake - and you come to Hope Park which has a pitch and putt golf course, putting, crazy golf and stunning gardens (which help win 'Britain in Bloom'). Next to Hope Park is Crow Park which overlooks Derwentwater and the Jaws of Borrowdale. Here you can relax in the sunshine, feed the ducks and have a picnic.
